Thanks to Leslie over at http://www.layitonmedesigns.com/, we are officially up and running! Yay!
Take a few moments and look through our site. I will update periodically with news and information with regards to Delanie and her Doggy :) Please read through Delanie's Story, it really helps to give a different perspecitve on things. We have embarked on a mission to raise $15,000 for the purchase, and training of an Allergy Alert Service Dog, along with our travel and training, all of which is being done through Angel Service Dogs, Inc (http://www.angelservicedogs.com/). Angel Service Dogs, Inc is a 501-c (3) organization...which to you means that every dollar you donate to them in support of Delanie's Doggy is fully tax deductable (please contact us to for info on how to obtain a receipt for tax purposes). We are confident that with enough support, we can meat our goal of bringing Delanie's Doggy home next fall. With her Doggy, Delanie will be able to experience the joys of childhood as any other child does. No more worries about what we can not see which could prove to be deadly to her. Can Delanie live without this doggy? Of course. Will her life be safer and fuller because of the opportunities the doggy will provide her? Absolutely! Many people want to question if this is necessary or not...of course it is not a necessity...many people have and do live with life-threatening allergies. We are simply trying to do everything within our power to give our daughter every opportunity in the world. We do not want her to miss out on so many things in a "normal" child's life simply because of an allergy that is not her fault and she has not control over.
We plan to hold several fundraising events and efforts in order to make our goal a reality. We have also set up a Paypal account which is directly accessable from our website (look for the piggy bank) While it seems impossible that any ONE person or family would be able to afford such an expense, it is very possible that as a group we can accomplish this goal. Even if you can only afford a few dollars...please realize that EACH AND EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR HELPS!
Thanks so much for your support and I look forward to seeing all of you at our first fundraiser (check out the Events tab)
